It's MO time!

Once again it is time to dawn the furry upper lip for cancer.

Lab stylists Matty Conrad & Dave Arter are growing their stache for cash.

This should be pretty entertaining because Matty looks like Thomas Magnum after a few weeks and Dave... doesn't.

seriously... he doesn't even look like Higgins.

Wanna support them ?

Bands you should love....Aidan Knight

Not because he's local....because he is freaking talented.

This local prodigy is steamrolling out his soulful sounds of indie folk and if you have ears just let it roll right on through you.

LGFW wraps in the big smoke

After a full week of fashion the lights on the runway have dimmed until next year. This years LG Fashion Week was full of magic and Matty certainly had his hands full of hair (and the occasional cocktail).

Lab Loves Greta Constantine

This dynamic duo of the Canadian fashion scene dropped jaws on sunday night with an unbelievably fresh show starring Coco Rocha (who’s also appeared in the Joe show and on runways for Louis Vuitton, Chanel, and Marc Jacobs. Rocha is apparently a long-time friend of GC designers Kirk Pickersgill and Stephen Wong. They are superstars in the making so watch out for them.

FYI Hair for their show was done by Schwarzkopf Proffesional artist (and friend of Lab) Adrian Carew

Fashion week in Toronto

Toronto has been buzzing with activity surrounding all things couture. Even though the main events are sponsored by L'oreal professional Matty and The rest of the Schwarzkopf Professional team have been busily buzzing right along with it. Last nights Alexander Berardi show was a huge success. We loved his use of stripes and sheers as well as the deep plunging necklines and exposed backs. Look for these to be big next spring.

Lab is Thankful for you

Happy thanksgiving to all of our readers on the north side of the border!

This is the day we all give thanks for what is most important to us, and for all of us at lab it is you, our loyal clients and lovers of lab, that we are truly thankful for.

If you have a few free minutes this holiday weekend you can help us raise some money for charity! Just scribble down a few reasons you are thankful for your super loveable lab stylists at Salons.ca and they will donate $1 to charity.

FYI if everyone that reads our blog does this over the next month we could potentially raise $10,000

More bands you should love..Mumford and Sons

In the past we have told you about one of our favorite internet phenomenons called "Take Away Shows". These are the brainchild of La Blogotheque and have been steadily replacing the pomp and pretentious production of music videos with very stripped down and honest acoustic performances from some of todays best bands. Here is one of our favorite musical acts filming theirs in a back alley somewhere in Paris.

Monarch serenades the lab

To kick off the Rifflandia festival our good friends from the Seattle based band Monarch dropped in to give us a little sneak peek of their highly anticipated concert. They also got a crash course in how to wash and style hair. We told em to keep their day jobs...

Check them out Friday night at the Upstairs cabaret.
